The 17th National Annual Conference on Neurological Infectious Diseases and Cerebrospinal Fluid Cytology of the Chinese Medical Association Neurology Branch was successfully held in Wuhan, Hubei, China. ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the health and professional consciousness and mental health of military medical students during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic. Methods From Feb. 17 to Feb. 20, 2020, an electronic questionnaire was used to investigate the attitudes and coping styles of military medical students towards quarantine and delay of school opening, their attitudes towards online teaching, and health and professional consciousness during COVID-19 epidemic;and their mental health status was scored by symptom checklist 90 (SCL-90). Results A total of 2 736 valid questionnaires were collected. The students basically understood and agreed with the quarantine and delay of school opening during the epidemic, and 70.83% (1 938/2 736) supported online teaching. During the quarantine period, 85.31% (2 334/2 736) of the students chose to listen to music or watch TV series for relaxation, and 64.69% (1 770/2 736) insisted on learning, reading literatures or writing papers. Students could basically form the habits of washing hands frequently and wearing masks, and their consciousness of health protection was higher than that before the epidemic. For military medical students, their professional beliefs and determination have been strengthened during the epidemic, and many students wanted to join in the fight against the epidemic. The survey found that 12.94% (354/2 736) of the students had mental health symptoms, and the top 3 SCL-90 factors were obsessive-compulsive disorder (78.53%, 278/354), interpersonal sensitivity (64.12%, 227/354), and depression (44.07%, 156/354). Conclusion During the epidemic, military medical students can generally adapt to the difficult environment and improve themselves. The mental health problems of military medical students have their own characteristics, special attention must to be paid, and the humanistic education of medical students should be strengthened.Copyright © 2022, Second Military Medical University Press. ABSTRACT

Due to the impact of the COVID-19, online teaching has become a common teaching method at present, and in-depth research on online teaching methods is of great practical significance. In the computer network course, we organize the online teaching process according to the BOPPPS model combined with online teaching tools such as DingTalk and Rain Classroom. We use Rain Classroom to seize the pre-class preview and use DingTalk to achieve participatory online interactive teaching and complete homework correction and online Q&A. The results of the questionnaire show that the above-mentioned teaching organization method can enable students to actively participate in interactive teaching, and students' approval of online teaching is relatively high. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Contract violations are frequent due to the high uncertainty and complexity of construction projects. However, enforcement after a violation has received limited attention. This study distinguishes between three types of violations, i.e., letter violations, mutually agreed spirit violations, and unilaterally assumed spirit violations, based on the documentation and mutuality dimensions. By using the data collected from Chinese general contractors, this study concludes that compared with unilaterally assumed spirit violations, violations of high mutuality of obligations (the first two violations) will lead to more severe contractual and reputational enforcement while with high mutuality, whether the violated obligations are written in the contract or not (corresponding to the first two violations, respectively) does not significantly affect the severity of enforcement. The mediating effects of relational risk perception on the aforementioned effects are empirically supported. This study contributes to the enforcement literature by exploring the effects of the characteristics of violations, especially violations of undocumented elements of contracts, on enforcement and fills the gaps in the scarce literature on reputational enforcement and its antecedents. Project managers can benefit from this study by recognizing the application of reputational enforcement and making better alignment between different types of violations and enforcement. IEEE

ABSTRACT

Lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) is one of the most common analytical platforms for point-of-care testing (POCT), which is capable of large-scale primary screening and home self-testing of infectious diseases. However, the sensitivity of conventional AuNPs-based LFIA is relatively low and more prone to false negatives. Herein, we report a novel LFIA based on gold-core-silver-shell bimetallic nanoparticles (Au4-ATP@Ag NPs) emitting Surface-enhanced Raman scatting (SERS) and Photothermal (PT) effect, named SERS/PT-based dual-modal LFIA (SERS/PT-dmLFIA), for the antigen detection of infectious diseases pathogens, which displayed an excellent performance. For influenza A virus (IAV), influenza B virus (IBV), and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) N protein detection, the limit of detections (LoD) with Raman as signal were 31.25, 93.75, and 31.25 pg mL-1 respectively, and the LoDs with temperature difference (∆T) as signal were as low as 15.63, 187.5, and 15.63 pg mL-1 respectively, which were over 4-fold more sensitive than visual-based LFIA. The proposed SERS/PT-dmLFIA was used for detecting virus antigen in pharyngeal swabs and showed ideal coincidence rate of over 95% compared to the commercialized assays. In addition, we explored the development of multiplex SERS/PT-dmLFIA that can detect IAV, IBV, and SARS-CoV-2 antigens simultaneously without cross reactivity. Overall, the SERS/PT-dmLFIA for antigen detection not only exhibits high sensitivity, accuracy and specificity, but also have characteristics of rapidity and simplicity, which holds high potential for rapid diagnosis of infectious diseases in laboratory testing, mass screening, and home self-testing. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

ABSTRACT

Acid deposition and particulate matter (PM) pollution have declined considerably in China. Although metal(loid) and acid deposition and PM have many common sources, the changes of metal(loid) deposition in China in the recent decade have not been well explored by using long-term monitoring. Therefore, we analyzed the dry and wet deposition of eleven metal(loid)s (including Al, As, Ba, Cd, Cu, Cr, Fe, Mn, Pb, Sr, and Zn) from 2017 to 2021 at Mount Emei, which is adjacent to the most economic-developed region in western China (Sichuan Basin (SCB)). Anthropogenic emissions contributed to over 80% of the annual wet deposition fluxes of metal(loid)s and acids (SO4 2-, NO3 -, and NH4 +) at Mount Emei, and the major source regions were the SCB, the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and Gansu Province. Metal(loid) and acid deposition had similar seasonal variations with higher wet deposition fluxes in summer but higher wet deposition concentrations and dry fluxes in winter. The seasonal variations were partially associated with higher precipitation but lower pH in summer (968 mm and 5.52, respectively) than in winter (47 mm and 4.73, respectively). From 2017 to 2021, metal(loid) deposition did not decline as substantially as acid deposition (5.6%-30.4%). Both the annual total deposition fluxes and concentrations of Cr, Cu, Sr, Ba, and Pb were even higher in 2020-2021 than in 2017-2018. The inter-annual and seasonal changes implied the responses of metal(loid) deposition to anthropogenic emission changes were buffered (e.g., transformation, dilution, and degradation) by precipitation rates, acidity, natural emissions, and chemical reactions in the atmosphere, among others.Copyright © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

ABSTRACT

This paper uses social electricity consumption data from 2015-2021 in a city in Hubei province, and uses some methods of artificial intelligence, for example, python function fitting and machine learning to construct an impact analysis and prediction model of the COVID-19 epidemic on Electricity Consumption. Through comparison with the effects of general linear regression and polynomial regression, a better model is developed which comprises four independent variables and uses polynomial regression. The model developed in this paper helps to quantify and measure the impact of the epidemic on society's electricity consumption, and ultimately enables users in the electricity industry to make convenient and rapid forecasts, helping them to make reasonable power supply plans, trading plans and dispatch plans, and to ensure safe and economic operation of the Electricity System. © 2022 ACM.

ABSTRACT

Recently, automatically generating radiology reports has been addressed since it can not only relieve the pressure on doctors but also avoid misdiagnosis. Radiology report generation is a fundamental and critical step of auxiliary diagnosis. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a more accurate and robust structure for radiology report generation is urgently needed. Although radiology report generation is achieving remarkable progress, existing methods still face two main shortcomings. On the one hand, the strong noise in medical images usually interferes with the diagnosis process. On the other hand, these methods usually require complex structure while ignoring that efficiency is also an important metric for this task. To solve the two aforementioned problems, we introduce a novel method for medical report generation, the termed attention-guided object dropout MLP(ODM) model. In brief, ODM first incorporates a tailored pre-trained model to pre-align medical regions and corresponding language reports to capture text-related image features. Then, a fine-grained dropout strategy based on the attention matrix is proposed to relieve training pressure by dropping content-irrelevant information. Finally, inspired by the lightweight structure of Multilayer Perceptron(MLP), ODM adopts an MLP-based structure as an encoder to simplify the entire framework. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our ODM. More remarkably, ODM achieves state-of-the-art performance on IU X-Ray, MIMIC-CXR, and ROCO datasets, with the CIDEr-D score being increased from 26.8% to 41.4%, 21.1% to 30.2%, and 9.1% to 19.3%, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Backgroud: The outbreak of COVID-19 has brought unprecedented perils to human health and raised public health concerns in more than two hundred countries. Safe and effective treatment scheme is needed urgently. Objective(s): To evaluate the effects of integratedTCM and western medicine treatment scheme on COVID-19. Method(s): A single-armed clinical trial was carried out in Hangzhou Xixi Hospital, an affiliated hospital with Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. 102 confirmed cases were screened out from 725 suspected cases and 93 of them were treated with integrated TCM and western medicine treatment scheme. Result(s): 83 cases were cured, 5 cases deteriorated, and 5 cases withdrew from the study. No deaths were reported. The mean relief time of fever, cough, diarrhea, and fatigue were (4.78 +/- 4.61) days, (7.22 +/- 4.99) days, (5.28 +/- 3.39) days, and (5.28 +/- 3.39) days, respectively. It took (14.84 +/- 5.50) days for SARS-CoV-2 by nucleic acid amplification-based testing to turn negative. Multivariable cox regression analysis revealed that age, BMI, PISCT, BPC, AST, CK, BS, and UPRO were independent risk factors for COVID-19 treatment. Conclusion(s): Our study suggested that integrated TCM and western medicine treatment scheme was effective for COVID-19.Copyright © 2021

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 pandemic outbreak poses a great threat to human health. Face masks have been considered as important personal protective equipment to prevent the COVID-19 transmission. However, pathogens can survive up to several days on the fabrics of commercial masks, which increases the risk of direct/indirect microbial transmission. Herein, new cationic conjugated microporous polymers (CCMPs)-based coating is developed, which possesses extended π-conjugated skeletons and massive quaternary ammonium salt (QAS) groups, exhibiting dual-modal antimicrobial inactivation, including sunlight-driven photodynamic sterilization through the generation of reactive oxygen species and contact sterilization through QAS groups. As a result, the CCMPs coatings can rapidly and efficiently eradicate 99% of model microbes, such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus under solar illumination, and also ensure the great antimicrobial effect in the absence of light. More importantly, the CCMPs coatings exhibit excellent durability, reusability as well as antimicrobial stability in humid environment. Contributing to the outstanding processability and formability, CCMPs can be in situ synthesized and coated over fibers through a simple spray procedure. Taken together, the design provides a promising strategy for developing reusable and self-sterilizing antimicrobial fabrics, particularly for the application of face masks to tackle infectious pathogen and viruses in daily protection and medical applications. © 2023 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To invetigate the influencing factors and clinical significance of liver function damage (LFD) in patients diagnosed with Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Method(s): The retrospective case-control study was conducted. The clinicopathological data of 51 patients with COVID-19 who were admitted to the Sino-French New City Branch of Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology by the 5th group assisting team from the First Hospital of Jilin University from February 9th to 27th in 2020 were collected. There were 27 males and 24 females, aged from 36 to 86 years, with an average age of 68 years. The treatment modality was according to the diagnostic and therapeutic guideline for COVID-19 (Trial 6th edition) issued by National Health Commission. Observation indicators: (1) clinical data of patients;(2) analysis of liver function index and treatment of LFD;(3) analysis of influencing factors for LFD. Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as Mean+/-SD, and measurement data with skewed distribution were described as M (range). Count data were described as absolute numbers or percentages, and comparison between groups was analyzed using the chi-square test. The Logistic regression method was used for univariate analysis. Result(s): (1) Clinical data of patients: of the 51 patients, 21 were classified as ordinary type of COVID-19, 19 as severe type and 11 as critical type. In terms of medical history, 31 patients suffered from more than or equal to one kind of chronic disease, 20 had no history of chronic disease. Thirteen patients had the drinking history and 38 had no drinking history. Seven patients were hepatitis positive and 44 were hepatitis negative. Five patients had septic shock at admission, 5 had systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), and 41 had neither shock nor SIRS. The body mass index (BMI), time from onset to admission, temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate of the 51 patients were (24+/-3)kg/m2, (13+/-5)days, 36.5 (range, 36.0-38.1 ), 82 times/minutes (range, 50-133 times/minutes), 20 times/minutes (range, 12-40 times/minutes). The white blood cell count, level of creatinine, and level of b-type natriuretic peptide within 24 hours after admission were 6.3x109/L [range, (2.2-21.7)x109/L], 75 mumol/L (range, 44-342 mumol/L), 214 ng/L (range, 5-32 407 ng/L). (2) Analysis of liver function index and treatment of LFD: the level of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), direct bilirubin (DBil), indirect bilirubin (IBil), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and prothrombin time (PT) were 31 U/L (range, 7-421 U/L), 29 U/L (range, 15-783 U/L), 36 U/L (range, 13-936 U/L), 76 U/L (range, 41-321 U/L), 4.9 mumol/L (range, 2.6-14.3 mumol/L), 5.8 mumol/L (range, 2.6-23.9 mumol/L), 37.2 s (range, 30.9-77.1 s), 13.9 s (range, 12.5-26.7 s), respectively. The percentages of cases with abnormal ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, DBil, IBil, APTT and PT were 47.1%(24/51), 47.1%(24/51), 35.3%(18/51), 13.7%(7/51), 7.8%(4/51), 2.0%(1/51), 21.6%(11/51), and 19.6%(10/51), respectively. Of the 51 patients, LFD was detected in 10 patients classified as ordinary type, in 9 patients as severe type, and in 10 as critical type, respectively. In the 51 patients, 1 of 22 patients with normal liver function developed respiratory failure and received mechanical ventilation within 24 hours after admission, while 9 of 29 patients with abnormal liver function developed respiratory failure and received mechanical ventilation, showing a significant difference between the two groups (chi2=5.57, P<0.05). (3) Analysis of influencing factors for LFD. Results of univariate analysis showed that clinical classification of COVID-19 as critical type was a related factor for LFD of patients (odds ratio=10.000, 95% confidence interval: 1.050-95.231, P<0.05). Conclusion(s): COVID-19 patients with LFD are more susceptible to develop respiratory failure. ABSTRACT

Overall survival (OS) is considered the standard clinical endpoint to support effectiveness claims in new drug applications globally, particularly for lethal conditions such as cancer. However, the source and reliability of OS in the setting of clinical trials have seldom been doubted and discussed. This study first raised the common issue that data integrity and reliability are doubtful when we collect OS information or other time-to-event endpoints based solely on simple follow-up records by investigators without supporting material, especially since the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic. Then, two rounds of discussions with 30 Chinese experts were held and 12 potential source scenarios of three methods for obtaining the time of death of participants, including death certificate, death record and follow-up record, were sorted out and analysed. With a comprehensive assessment of the 12 scenarios by legitimacy, data reliability, data acquisition efficiency, difficulty of data acquisition, and coverage of participants, both short-term and long-term recommended sources, overall strategies and detailed measures for improving the integrity and reliability of death date are presented. In the short term, we suggest integrated sources such as public security systems made available to drug inspection centres appropriately as soon as possible to strengthen supervision. Death certificates provided by participants' family members and detailed standard follow-up records are recommended to investigators as the two channels of mutual compensation, and the acquisition of supporting materials is encouraged as long as it is not prohibited legally. Moreover, we expect that the sharing of electronic medical records and the legal disclosure of death records in established health registries can be realized with the joint efforts of the whole industry in the long-term. The above proposed solutions are mainly based on the context of China and can also provide reference for other countries in the world. © 2022 The Authors

ABSTRACT

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic adversely affected the global tourism industry and continues to impact the Chinese hotel sector today. Using a multiple cases study method, we analyzed the response strategies of four Chinese hotel groups - Jinling, Jinjiang, New Century Hotels & Resorts, and Huazhu Group Ltd.-across four successive periods: (1) outbreak;(2) first recovery;(3) struggle;and (4) a predicted finest moment. We identified four internal recovery strategies: (a) rapid response, (b) recovery exploration, (c) optimization and upgrading, and (d) rejuvenation. Hotel groups' resilience proceeded through all four stages include (re)activation, consolidation, extension, and ecosystem. Each stage demonstrated the companies' movement from reliance on internal resources to interdependence across the supply chain with on the help of digital services such as contactless check-in, robot delivery and cloud-based PMS. We additionally identified a close link between stakeholders including online travel agencies, government and hotel chains. The analysis in the present study is premised on resource utilization, product and service development, organizational management and operation, leadership, digitalization, and social responsibility. Suggestions to cope with a long-duration crisis like COVID-19 are also provided.

Excessive information exposure and misleading information in controlling COVID-19 disease have affected the dimensions of people's lives and caused mental health problems. Healthcare effectiveness is a critical subject worldwide. Thus, engaging resources in the progress and use of e-health technologies are very crucial, especially in the COVID-19 era. Due to the sensitivity of this issue and the world health organization's attention to developing new clinical and health services in the pandemic, this article introduces and presents a new model. This new model investigates the factors influencing the development of modern clinical and health services during the pandemic era. Also, this research presents a new model to investigate the technological, management, environmental, social, and cultural factors and perceived usefulness and ease of use influencing the development of modern clinical and health services throughout COVID-19. The questionnaire survey technique is utilized for gathering data. The authors contacted about 300 potential respondents. To statistically analyze the questionnaires, Smart-PLS 3.2 software is used. The outcomes illustrate a great strength of the suggested model. The results demonstrate that technological, management, social, cultural, and environmental factors positively affect perceived usefulness and ease of use. They also show that perceived usefulness and ease of use are significant factors in developing modern clinical and health services.

ABSTRACT

Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) is an emerging business model integrating various travel modes into a single mobility service accessible on demand. Besides the on-demand mobility services, instant delivery services have increased rapidly and particularly boomed during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, requiring online orders to be delivered timely. In this study, to deal with the redundant mobility resources and high costs of instant delivery services, we model an MaaS ecosystem that provides mobility and instant delivery services by sharing the same multimodal transport system. We derive a two-class bundle choice user equilibrium (BUE) for mobility and delivery users in the MaaS ecosystems. We propose a bilateral surcharge-reward scheme (BSRS) to manage the integrated mobility and delivery demand in different incentive scenarios. We further formulate a bilevel programming problem to optimize the proposed BSRS, where the upper level problem aims to minimize the total system equilibrium costs of mobility and delivery users, and the lower level problem is the derived two-class BUE with BSRS. We analyze the optimal operational strategies of the BSRS and develop a solution algorithm for the proposed bilevel programming problem based on the system performance under BSRS.
